BOULDER, COLORADO, August 1, 2001 - EnergyWindow, Inc., the company rapidly gaining national recognition as the "energy buyers' ally," announced today that they have successfully completed a project to develop an energy strategy and implementation program for a national restaurant chain.
EnergyWindow facilitated a review of the company's business strategy, performance measures, management practices, and the current energy environment. The results were an overall strategy, a set of priorities for short- and long-term focus, and performance measures and accountabilities for energy management. EnergyWindow then built a detailed schedule for the second phase of the project and designed concepts for energy management processes and information systems. Energy audits of several restaurants in two states generated solutions for reducing energy demand.
EnergyWindow (www.energywindow.com) teamed with two other Colorado based companies, Financial Energy Management (www.FinancialEnergy.com) and Electric Outsource, to perform the project. Financial Energy Management performed the energy audits and developed the demand reduction alternatives. Electric Outsource helped with the overall strategy.
"We were very fortunate to work with a very progressive company," said Jack Mason, EnergyWindow Chief Executive. "Their management team is strong and innovative. They were keenly interested in the project results. Several executives, including the CFO, took an active role in the planning session in which we outlined the major elements of their energy strategy and program. Their commitment and investment will lead to significant savings while not distracting from their main business focus-high quality meals and customer service. We see intense interest in this type of project among businesses these days."
The project team identified retrofits that will reduce energy use and pay back investments in 1-2 years, depending on state energy costs. The team also identified supply cost saving opportunities in each of several state energy markets by either soliciting bids from alternative suppliers or switching to alternative rates.
